Rochester Chamber of Commerce Foundation Announces Leadership Greater Rochester Class of 2011
The Rochester Chamber of Commerce Foundation
is proud to announce the acceptance of 37 candidates into the 2010-2011 Leadership Greater Rochester (LGR) program.
The 10-month leadership program is designed to identify, develop and connect community leaders through collaborative leadership training and in-depth information about key sectors within the community. An additional program component involved the creation, development and implementation of a sustainable community impact project that ensures greater Rochester’s vitality.
The program goal is to identify emerging leaders, expand their knowledge of the community and encourage them to take active, individual responsibility for participation and leadership in the future of Rochester. The program includes a two-day retreat and eight full-day sessions that offer different topics, experiences and discussions.
“The program had another outstanding pool of candidates apply this year and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of people who have stepped forward as emerging community leaders,” says Jess Ihrke, Vice President, Education & Workforce at the Chamber. “Throughout the years, our LGR alumni have become increasingly involved and have had a profound impact on our community. This year’s class will certainly continue the trend.”
This year’s LGR program chair is Eric Cleveland, project manager, department of nursing, Mayo Clinic, and Class of 2008 LGR graduate.
"LGR helped me to grow as a leader in ways that continue to impact my life today, so when offered the chance to give back to the program as Chair for the class of 2010-2011, saying yes was easy,” says Cleveland. “As Chair, I will be an advisor, mentor, and trouble-shooter for the class and being an alumnus allows me to draw from shared experiences to guide these emerging leaders through their journey of personal growth while also making an impact on our community."
